a) Non- surgical treatments:
1 - Salivary diagnosis ( performing salivary diagnosis helps to identify pathogenic bacteria in your mouth and determines if you are at risk for gum disease. Early diagnosis prevents further progression of disease and aids your dentist to treat accordingly.
2 - Scaling and root planning
Why do I need it?
Scaling and root planing is a deep cleaning below the gumline used to treat gum disease.
Gum disease is caused by a adherent film of bacteria called plaque. Plaque is always forming on your teeth, but if they aren’t cleaned well, the bacteria in plaque can cause your gums to become inflamed. When this happens, your gums will pull away from your teeth and form spaces called pockets. Plaque then gets trapped in these pockets and cannot be removed with regular brushing. If untreated, gum disease could lead to bone and tooth loss. Loss of bone creates deep pockets which can usually be treated with scaling and root.
b) Tooth whitening:
Tooth discoloration and staining can make your smile unattractive. To make your teeth look attractive and shiny we provide in office professional teeth whitening.
c) Periodontal pocket procedures:
Periodontal disease destroys the supporting tissue and bone forming "pockets" which created larger space for bacteria to live accumulate and advance under the gum tissue. These pockets can result in bone and tissue loss. Eventually, if too much bone is lost, the teeth will need to be extracted. To prevent tooth loss the pocket procedure is performed.
d) Regenerative therapy:
To restore lost periodontium (bone, Periodontal ligament and cementum) regenerative therapy is performed.
e) Crown lengthening:
People with gummy smile show excessive gum tissue due to short teeth or teeth appear short due to being covered with too much gum tissue. To correct this esthetic crown lengthening is performed.
f) Gingival contouring:
Uneven gum line can make a smile unattractive. It could be caused due to medications, genetics, gum disease, poor oral hygiene. Dr. Kamreddy will reshape the gingival margins to achieve an esthetic smile.
g) Gum grafting:
Gum grafts are performed to cover exposed roots and thin gum tissue.
h) Extraction and Bone Grafting
i) Dental implants
Dental Implants are placed in jaw surgically where there are missing teeth to restore the bite and function. Replacing a lost tooth with a dental implant can significantly improve the patient's quality of life and health.
- Sinus Augmentation
- Ridge modification
Depending on the number of missing teeth and to restore chewing efficiency Dr. Reddy will suggest single, multiple or full mouth dental implants.
j) Oral Lesions
Evaluation of oral cavity to identify lesions or tumors is performed as oral cancer is the sixth most common lesion in United States. Certain times oral lesions can be precursors before systemic manifestations occur for certain conditions. By identifying and performing biopsy Dr. Reddy can diagnose and provide necessary treatment to prevent potential transformation of lesions if left untreated.
k) Laser Dentistry
Use of laser surgical therapy is beneficial to patients due to reduced post-operative discomfort and minimal trauma to the tissues and adjacent structure. Faster recovery and shorter surgical time.
l) Occlusal Adjustment
m) Sedation
It's a moderate level of sedation, so you're still technically awake but feeling very carefree. It's sometimes called conscious sedation dentistry or "twilight sleep" because it creates a state of short-term amnesia (forgetfulness) where you experience insensitivity to pain without the loss of consciousness using oral sedatives and nitrous oxide.
